a little sweetness.

I typically stray away from all that is spring. This was solely due to the childhood in a city where the definition of spring was grey + rain. That was until I relocated a little south to Portland, Or and was formally introduced to the full spectrum that spring can deliver. Fragrances I had never encountered filled the air, blooms I didn't know existed outside of California state lines popped up, and bird songs filled my window frame each dawn. I learned just how much I love dogwood trees, apple blossoms, and the softness of pinks and powder blues. Although we are barely tip toeing in the early parts of February, buds are peeking all over Portland and I am prepared with cotton slip skirts, periwinkle flats, and embroidered cardigans.
